moonlight Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-10-07 · Effective: 2026-10-07

In short

Your data stays on your device and, if you turn on sync, in your own Google Drive. The developer has no servers and cannot see any of your content.

1. What we collect

Nothing. moonlight is developed by Lunark (“we”). We run no servers that receive your data, and there is no user account system. The plans, tasks, notes, photos, recordings and settings you enter are never sent to us.

2. Where your data is stored

All data is stored locally on your device, including the name and email you enter in Settings (used only for display in the app and in exported files). The Home Screen widget reads the same local data.

You can export a backup from Settings at any time. Backups are saved wherever you choose and stay in your hands.

3. Google Drive sync (optional)

Sync is optional; every feature of moonlight works without signing in. When sync is on:

  • The app requests only the drive.appdata scope. It can read and write only moonlight's own hidden folder in your Drive and cannot see any of your other files.
  • Data travels directly between your device and Google, never through any server of ours; we cannot read it.
  • Your Google account email is used only to show which account is signed in.

moonlight’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

4. Camera, photos and microphone

The app asks for access to the camera, photos or microphone only when you add a photo or recording to a task. Those photos and recordings are stored only on your device and, if sync is on, in your own Google Drive.

5. Tips and payments

Tips are made through Apple’s In-App Purchase. Payments are handled by Apple; we never receive your card or payment details. Tips do not unlock any features.

6. Ads, tracking and analytics

moonlight has no ads and uses no tracking or third-party analytics. If you agree to “Share With App Developers” in iOS Settings, Apple may provide us with anonymous crash reports, used only to fix problems.

7. How to delete your data

  • On your device: deleting the moonlight app deletes its data.
  • Stop syncing: sign out of Google in the app’s Settings.
  • In the cloud: on Google Drive for the web, go to Settings → Manage apps → moonlight → Options → “Delete hidden app data”.
  • Revoke access: go to your Google Account → Security → “Your connections to third-party apps & services” → moonlight → delete all connections.

8. Changes and contact

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above.
